Voyager 5x21: Juggernaut. One of my favorite episodes of the season, but the reason is subtle and perhaps easily missed. I think the episode is drawing an analogy between B'Elanna's rage and the Malon's toxic waste, and it really works for me.

Continuing on Voyager rewatch. I really enjoyed Dark Frontier, even though the episode title is kind of offputting. My favorite parts were how outraged the Doctor was at Seven's parents, and how Janeway never lost faith in Seven. Also really enjoyed Janeway's scene with Naomi Wildman.

Wow if that’s the case it could have some SERIOUS implications for Democratic political tactics! Almost like the leaders following the polls while the polls are following the leaders, which hands all agency to the sole faction of American politics which openly disregards polling! Curious!

maybe I'm confused here. the "evidence" that online leftists helped elect Trump is that Russia was "said" to be helping Bernie Sanders?

so by implication anyone who supports progressive candidates is a fascist?

this seems... incorrect?
If online leftists actually cared about antifascism they would take stock of the fact that we have a decade's-worth of evidence that their online behavior--including the bullying--has been manipulated by foreign powers in order to elect Trump, who is a fascist. They'd then change their behavior.

Voyager Season 5: Night, Drone, and Once Upon a Time were fantastic episodes. The plots and performances were very affecting. In the Flesh was also very good, and felt very Trek, with the success of diplomacy. This stretch of five episodes might be the best so far.

Voyager rewatch: I notice I sometimes feel more compelled to respond to the episodes I don't like, rather than the ones I do like. So let me just go over the last batch, because there were some really good ones.

Two things:
1. Republicans having no standards is not a good justification for Democrats having poor standards
2. Reminding everyone about Hillary Clinton every time Republicans do something bad strikes me as counterproductive for the Democrats' brand. Can we just be done with 2016, ffs?
The staggering Atlantic report about the administration’s sloppy preparation for military action is hands-down the most obvious demonstration that the right’s rhetoric about Clinton’s server was bullshit.

Voyager 4x17: Retrospect
Well, this episode aged poorly.

I'm pleased to say that the next few episodes after Year of Hell are quite good. Random Thoughts was fun and I always like to see Tuvok solve crimes. Concerning Flight was okay - lighthearted and fun. Moral Coil was excellent and had the emotional impact of some of the better Season 2 episodes.

Made it through Voyager's Year of Hell. Couldn't get over how bad it was.
This was the episode that made me stop watching the show in the 90s. I can see why. The premise makes no sense - why would Voyager try to cross Krenim space without permission? They've always avoided doing that before.

I've reached Season 4 of Voyager. This is approximately when I stopped watching the show when it first aired. And oh, boy, do I see why. The only other show I can think of that fell off this hard was Sliders. I have so many thoughts. But in short: sexing the show up with a catsuit was terrible.

Voyager rewatch, Season 3, episode 16. That Borg reveal at the end... bone-chilling. Still loving this show.

Just rewatched Tuvix. What a masterpiece. @thekatemulgrew.bsky.social gave a tremendous performance. There's a good reason this is one of Trek's most talked-about episodes.
It's not just the moral dilemma - which itself is great - but what elevates the episode is how Janeway carries it.
