Interested in how things work; brains are really cool too! (I'm not an expert on anything.)

Hello world.

For those who find this, I'm interested in learning how things work, and helping people. Probably in that order too.

Will happily discuss my #ADHD, #OCPD, #aphantasia, & #SDAM.

If you're looking to earn favor with me, be kind, helpful, and tell me what you are passionate about.

Walking by former workplace, saw a stately looking solo Sandhill Crane & said "hey friend, where's your mate?"

Then noticed former supervisor 30' beyond crane, waving at me...

Probably not the weirdest thing I've said to her, but still an awkward way to greet a human.

A good breakdown of the often overlooked connection between #ADHD and eating.

(Older video, new title; I forget the original title... something about ADHD and obesity.)

"Essentially, I feel like my life is like a movie I saw long ago. There are some scenes, lines, moments in the movie that I remember, but not necessarily where they fall in the movie timeline or how they tie into the overall plot. ..." (cut for length)

Accurate for me. #SDAM

Why did my Google Assistant voice change this morning?!?!

Being greeted by, and having the weather and my schedule announced by a different voice after dismissing my wake up alarm was pretty jarring.

(Ranting, not looking for actual causes.)

I now appreciate the frustration I know I've experienced before.

For me, their site doesn't work well with Chrome's password manager, overrides the browser's copy/paste ability, or loops me on the payment screen with no indication of errors.

Fun realization, if you have a hard time remembering differences between #OCD & #OCPD ...

OCPD has an acronym built in: Order, Control & Perfection (Disorder).

OCD is somewhat less straightforward with Obsessions (and intrusive thoughts) & Compulsions (and repetitive behaviors).

Trump Sick And Tired Of Mainstream Media Always Trying To Put His Words Into Some Sort Of Context
NEW YORK—Emphasizing that the practice was just more evidence of journalists’ bias against him, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump stated Thursday that he was sick and tired of the mainstream media always attempting to place his words into some kind of context. “The corrupt news media is constantly taking the things I say and putting them within the larger context of politics and global events—it’s absolutely sickening what they do,” said Trump, adding that many of the comments he has made—including his call yesterday for Russia to hack into the emails of his presidential opponent Hillary Clinton and publish the contents—had been repeatedly and unfairly contextualized with relevant facts about the world and pertinent information about the situation in which they were stated. “It’s completely shameful to take words I’ve spoken or written and try to connect them to some kind of objective reality. I say something, and the next thing I know, a crooked reporter is telling everyone what I said along with a fact-based explanation of what its implications are and why it matters. It’s ridiculous, and it has to stop.” Trump added that he would not hesitate to ban any news organization from his campaign that continued to twist his statements by implying they held any specific meaning about or relation to the world we inhabit.

A while back there was a post in an ND group about how many ND folks dread Mondays (start of work week).

This was an interesting thought. I am definitely more stressed/frustrated on Mondays once at work, but zero apprehension about work / going to work.

I feel like this is an extension of #SDAM.

Part of me thinks there should be a word for AI censorship, but I think censorship covers it well enough.

(Not to mention LLMs aren't sentient AI, so humans are still the ones doing the censoring.)
