the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now

Why am I so against generative AI in games?
Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

I played Dispatch last night, in general it seems pretty great. But the MC accepting a 9/5 corporate office job seems so bleak, he's not upset enough by it LOL. A lot of the gameplay takes place in a map ui with icons of heroes faces, which isn't engaging enough imo. Needs more character there imo
