the least informative word in political discourse is “organize”.

what exactly do you mean? start a nonprofit? have your neighbors to lunch? join somebody’s thing? find some friends and picket your representative?

you’ll cherry pick some thing and say that, *that*, was organizing.

okay. what now?

Cute!
this is one of my favorite custom feeds, Quiet Posters

it shows you posts from people you follow who don't post that much! so it surfaces friends' posts that might otherwise get drowned out in the Following feed (which is reverse chronological) 🤗

Exceptional piece. One need not discount the effect of the right-wing dis-and-misinfo narrative shaping media machine to see how aggregated statistics could mislead you on how the working class were 'experiencing the economy' over the past 4~5 years

The Twitter exodus and the rise of Bluesky represents the decay of neoliberalism and the formalising of anarcho-syndicalism in the digital space. In this essay I will...
The thing that really differentiates Bluesky is that it doesn’t feel like it was designed by a bunch of people who will lose their jobs if I spend a little less time on Bluesky.

It's early but the picks so far feel this way - and unfortunately it sets things up nicely for the (ostensibly) ideologically driven people around him
My money is on the Reverse Hitler Revenge Arc. Instead of trying to make his empire huge and strong to fuel his delusions of grandeur, he tries to cut this country down until everyone and everything in it is as broken, pathetic, and ugly as he is.
I know people think Trump is signaling that he thinks he’s got ultimate power with these cabinet picks and that would be a powerful play for a fascist and maybe that’s what he’s doing, but I’m just… remembering him on the campaign trail and wondering if if he’s just completely lost it

Then it hit me: The big success of the US right over the last decade or so, helped by a cadre of centrists, is convincing a lot of people that the Democratic Party is whoever you think is the most radical, most annoying person on the internet. Therefore, voting Republican is a vote against them.

-The Media
-Academia
-The Civil service

Total Curtis Yarvin victory. I've said it before and it sounds fucking stupid, but the neoreactionary canon is required reading for all opponents of facism. Know your enemy!

Conditions might not be deteriorating, but growth has massively stagnated. When the upward trend, assumed to continue, instead plateaus hard, it feels unsettling - like neoliberalism isn't delivering the promised goods anymore.
“Material conditions in the US continue to deteriorate” is an utterly deranged statement, comparable with hysterical right-wing panics over crime and immigration, and you believe it for exactly the same reason: validating, choose-your-own-adventure style online information environments
You're right, but for the wrong reasons.
The barrier to leftism is lowering as material conditions in the US continue to deteriorate.
Liberals who love the status quo are quickly becoming the "got mine" of the country, while victims of the US education system still can't afford a house.

Thanks to the first Canada acquired H5N1 case, there’s an uptick in “bird flu pandemic imminent” and “omg it’s gone H2H!” posts. Those are not accurate.

However, given the situation in the US, I have some real concerns about this that grow progressively more grave.
