This is a bit of a stretch, but I believe Yarvin's 'A Very Legal Coup', that laid out a plan for Trump and the Republicans to 'steal back' the election, starting with a fake electors scheme, preceded the Eastman memos.

One link they missed was the Michael Anton one - the guy who wrote the Flight 93 article that got a lot of the conservative intelligentsia on board with Trump in '16, and part of the same Claremont Institute that gave us John Eastman.

This is very validating so far, I feel a bit less like a crazy conspiracy theorist than I did an hour ago haha. Did not know about the early usenet stuff. The joking-not-joking stuff is such a powerful meme.

It might not be as fashionable among the tech set now, but half the electorate don't really believe in democratic institutions anymore; ask them enough questions about checks and balances and the power of the executive, and i fear you'd find they're fascists and just don't know it.

More seriously, I think he thrived on (and was funded for) having this reputation as a dark philosopher whose silver tongue could enthrall otherwise progressively inclined people into reactionary politics - the OG redpiller. The reality is just people inheriting beliefs from social groups.

It's just not that trendy anymore, actual people with power follow that stuff now. Lameeee
