I use AI (usually Stable Diffusion) to make art, primarily of ponies. Here I've made a video showing the usual process for making what I would usually call "AI-assisted" art. The first frame of the video is the raw AI output, and each shift is a change I've made via GIMP/inpainting/etc.

I've seen a lot of negativity about Al art. I don't think it's important that everyone like or experiment with Al art, but I do think that a lot of the critics are getting some basic facts wrong. Specifically, I think they're misunderstanding the current quality of Al art, why Al doesn't "steal" the art it trains on, and why it's not bad for the environment. If you don't like Al art, that's fine, but it's not fine to be wrong about these other claims. I'll explain each in this post.

On this basis lawmakers are instituting bans.
