I keep seeing the word 'hallucination' in relation to AI output which is verifiably wrong.
Can we be clear, it's not hallucinating anymore than a studemt who creates a fictitious reference, or a coder who writes a shoddy program is hallucinating.
It's just being wrong.

I'm making biscuits and gravy tomorrow. I made the gravy tonight.
I read that using bacon grease as the fat in the roux is 👨🍳💋. So I cooked down some Polish Boczek (with a shallot and 2 garlic cloves) then cooked out the flour & a tablespoon of cocoa powder before adding back the boczek and sausage.
