Vinay Prasad has refused to review Moderna's application to license a new updated flu vaccine for the USA- why - this is puzzling because he basically made up a reason as he claims a trial was not done that was in fact performed. This has huge implications for licensing new vaccines in the States

Early in the pandemic, people fixated on disinfecting surfaces, assuming it prevented infection. While hygiene matters, SARS‑CoV‑2 spreads mainly through airborne particles. Much better to focus on ventilation, masks in enclosed spaces, and hand hygiene.

I am in a state of shock after reading of the death of the brilliant Observer journalist Rachel Cooke. She was only 56. She leaves behind a huge body of work but she had so much more to offer I am sure.
I guess none of us know how long we have left- the deadline might be nearer than we think.
