I've been rewatching L&O:SVU for a while now and you can really pinpoint the moment they make a hard pivot into consent culture, which is probably for the better on like a cultural level... but once they do that they often just stop bothering to make characters relatable people?

💀he replied and sent me his resume "just in case" and 1) it's bad in terms of standard resume length/formatting 2) he doesn't have ANY experience working with or writing for the public 3) barely any non-academic experience in the subject matter 4) most recent jobs are all AI-related.
subject matter expertise without ANY historical training or communications experience automatically makes them qualify to present history to the public. so this guy just emailed to say "it looks like you're not really marketing to this target audience*, do you have a job to give me?"

I got a job as an undergraduate fulfilling research requests at an archive and loved it, then as I got more work experience I realized that there were no roles doing exclusively the fun stuff... unless you're an undergraduate intern lol. Pivoted to museum education instead.

Speaking of tea adventures, I made myself a cup of suutei tsai today--salty milk tea from Mongolia. It was interesting! I'm not sure if I'd make the same recipe for myself, although the one I tried called for black tea and I'd be curious about trying a green version.

I have been strength training consistently for almost a full year now and have experienced minimal gains but I think that may be changing soon b/c I'm accepting the fact that "breakfast food" does not exist.
I feel like one of the biggest things for me in learning to eat healthier is to joyfully ignore food rules. In my head I have an idea of what a "proper meal" looks like (meat + veggie side + carb side) and turns out that just doesn't work for me.
