In a series of secret offline memos and meetings, the justices toiled away over how they would formulate their code of ethics, and—crucially—whether it could actually be enforced.

As a matter of fact, I am enraged at any Democrat who criticizes the move. There is a growing disconnect between what the people in the party want and what the party actually does.
The insider DC sheets keep running articles about Democrats bewailing Bidens pardon. I’m able to keep a pretty close tabs on the opinions of engaged Democrats via emails to TPM. And the actual opinion is overwhelmingly in favor of the decision. In fact, more or less universal support.

And, nope, none of these white writers have ever penned an article asking Trump voters to "reach out" and understand the plight of millions of Americans who voted AGAINST Trump. Odd. So strange. I wonder why our anxiety doesn't matter? Hmmm. Anyone want to take a guess?
A lot of white dudes coming out telling me to reach out to Trump voters, not all are bad, yadda yadda. Good for you. You go out to diners & talk to people who voted for a criminal racist & violent insurrectionist 3 times in a row. For most people of color, we'll concentrate on the 65% that didn't.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

When foreigners gave smaller amounts of money to the Clinton Foundation before Hillary Clinton ran for president, the New York Times put the story on the front page.

This is a larger amount of money going directly into the pocket of the president-elect.

Call me crazy, but I think Justin Sun, a Chinese national being prosecuted for fraud by the SEC, sending Trump $18 million should be a bigger story

The direct enrichment of Trump by a foreign national weeks before he takes office has merited no coverage in the NYT or Washington Post
A Chinese national, charged with fraud by the SEC, just sent Donald Trump $18 million
Chinese Crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun paid $6.2 million for a banana — sold by Sotheby's as conceptual art — and then ate it last Friday.

Dems should condemn Biden pardoning a family member because if he doesn't, he sets terrible precedent that could even see a crazy scenario where Trump pardons a family member of major crimes and then gives him a prestigious role as ambassador to a nuclear armed nation. Don't laugh. It could happen.
