Thursday 20th March at Grimsby Town Hall from 7:15 pm. The story of Marshall’s Flour Mills on Victoria Street Grimsby. Some still stand as apartments, they dominate the landscape as they have done since their building between 1889 and 1906. Free for members £3 for non-members.

Laura Fitzmaurice earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University. In addition to her design work, Laura researches and writes about early women architects. Her book 'Clotilde Brewster: Pioneering Woman Architect' was published by Lund Humphries in November 2024.

We welcome the fact North Yorkshire’s Enforcement Officer will be visiting Bramcote Tennis Pavilion, Scarborough shortly and will discuss the condition of the building with those responsible. It's one of the few 🌍 remaining tennis pavilions remaining from the first days of the sport. bit.ly/3Q3yqRZ

💰Central government has committed £10mil for Holbeck's Temple Works to become a new home for British Library North.

💸A further £5mil in funding has been confirmed to create a National Poetry Centre at the landmark Trinity St David’s Church on Woodhouse Lane.

There can't be many other streets with as many listed buildings as 'The Mount' in York. The architecture is mainly from the early to mid nineteenth century. The street though has been or very near the main route running south and west from York from Roman times onwards.
