Local reporter with updates re Rumeysa Ozturk. tl;dr Jurisdiction issues will likely come into play, as she was in LA by the time her counsel was able to file. Either way, this is a crime against human rights and the basic tenets of our constitution.
I dropped by federal court to check out the case of Remeysa Ozturk, the Tufts PhD student taken by ICE Tuesday (no hearings scheduled for today or anything).
Although earlier it was said her location was unknown, ICE's website says she is in the Western District of Louisiana:
