Unlike the misinformation peddled by Games Fray, GI.biz, and the like, patents don’t give “ownership” over generic mechanics or abstract concept. They need to be detailed and specific, but this patent application is neither. I’m unsure that it’d be granted without substantial revisions.

I have never seen anyone discuss any past game in terms of its TGA win, nom, or snub. Literally nobody has ever thought about a TGA that isn't the one immediately airing, because this stuff has no real significance or longevity beyond the hype cycle of the games it's trailering.

The Game Awards are not the Oscars of video games. The Oscars miss constantly but at least they are a bona fide attempt by an industry to legitimize and promote itself; TGA is not that, it's just ads for individual products masquerading as an awards show run by one guy's particular preferences.

If we're being 100% real, if you aren't using these Pokemon in a regular playthrough, and the main reason to have them is to complete a Pokedex and/or use them for competitive battling, how is it any different that the games themselves don't have them all but Home and Champions do
