Mike Johnson is stalling to shield the Trump administration from accountability and protect his wealthy friends in high places with morally corrupt proclivities.

It's time to swear @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social in.
This delay is not procedural, it is intentional. Speaker Johnson is doing everything in his power to shield this administration from accountability.

The Founders counted on Congress being interested in protecting its own powers vis a vis the executive. They certainly didn't foresee a speaker like Mike Johnson. www.thebulwark.com/p/speaker-mi...
The Speaker of the House Is Abetting Authoritarianism
Every Trump needs his Johnson: a flunky who will rationalize his crimes.

Breaking: Trump has officially lost the Nobel Peace Prize.

Instead, the Nobel committee is awarding the leader of the opposition in Venezuela for supporting “democracy over dictatorship.”
Trump Loses Nobel Peace Prize He Shamelessly Campaigned For
The Norwegian Nobel Committee on Friday said the recognition would instead go to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.

When the Epstein files drop…. Republicans that protected and supported Trump this whole time are not walking away clean. The stench of Trump will hang on you the rest of your lives. You chose it.

I’m down for this.

Everything Trump is doing now is a preamble for his regime's real goal: to invoke the Insurrection Act.

I don’t want to unduly alarm you, but you need to be aware of this imminent danger. It’s unfolding very rapidly. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/trumps-plan

Just an FYI: We’re not facing a “government shutdown.” This is a Trump-MAGA Republican shutdown. Call it what it is.
October 5, 2025 at 3:23 AM
We need clear and absolute DISOBEDIENCE to the Trump Regime. Just say NO.

Republicans are doubling our insurance premiums. They are throwing 15 million people off their health care.

As a result, tens of thousands will unnecessarily die so that the 1% can get a trillion dollars in tax breaks.

Unacceptable. We cannot allow it.

Chicago isn’t a “warzone”… but the Broadview ICE facility is. That’s why it’s time to say enough is enough.

But to do that, we need our leaders. And your help:

I’ve lived through government shutdowns.

Under normal circumstances, I understand why compromises are made to keep the government running.

These are not normal circumstances.
Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

Trump’s authoritarian agenda is not popular. His big, ugly bill is not popular. Ripping health care away from millions of Americans is not popular.

As @aoc.bsky.social explains, he and Republicans are weaker than they look. Democrats must stand strong and refuse to cave.

The people will boot you from your office, Mike “Moses” Johnson. May your party wander in a political desert long after.
October 2, 2025 at 1:27 PM
We believe healthcare is a right for every American.

But starting today, millions of people will be notified that they are being priced out of their insurance thanks to Republican policies.

Enough is enough. The GOP may shut down the government, but we will stand tall for YOU.
