if you are going to pointedly ignore robots.txt, may i suggest writing a crawler that isn't fucking broken

access logs from a crawler requesting broken file URLs (which include a URL-encoded quote on either end of it)

the end of those access log lines, revealing the bot user agent and its homepage

one of those weird problems: the steamvr desktop overlay is not showing my mouse cursor at all. i can see the highlights it leaves in places, but i cannot actually see the cursor itself. this makes things surprisingly difficult (using the actual mouse, not the vr trackers)

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead

there's no writeup on this and the video description is useless shilling. is this nothing more than "if you give a bot mod powers and the ability to echo what chat says, chat can likely abuse that mod power"?

because yes, if you let users type things into admin command boxes, that's what you get

One of the most visually interesting quirks of Silent Hill 4's interface font, partial lack of serifs on certain letters (i, u), might have been a happy accident by what they used to generate the font atlas, as both the original Bitstream's Transitional 521 and game's "smallfont" both have those

the twitter "revealing origin" thing is fascinating to me as a early-00s internet user, because that used to be baked into some platforms. forums would constantly tell you your ip was logged, irc showed your hostname by default. sure, it doesn't reveal all, but it offered you *something*
