Yes, you can really question if wind power is better for the environment than burning coal. You’d be a fucking idiot, but you can technically ask.
Burgum on wind energy: "It wasn't even actually green because when you look at the components, the magnets, the blades, everything that goes into building this thing, you can really question whether it was green in the first place"

I’ve been white for *checks notes* 47 years, and I’ve never once apologized for it. It says a lot about the critical thinking skills of the audience that this is an applause line and not a “WTF is he on about?” line.
JD Vance: "In the United States of America you don't have to apologize for being white anymore"

I’ve daily driven vehicles from this era. They’re cute and quirky, but not “good” in any real sense. To the average consumer, nothing is appealing about a giant, 10mpg, RWD vehicle with a carburetor. If that’s what the masses wanted, they could buy them now. Used station wagons exist.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

I hate this “both sides promise and don’t deliver so they’re basically the same” argument. One side says what they want to do, they try it, then congress or SCOTUS blocks them. The other side promises irrational things like “lower prices on day 1” then does weird crypto shit and racism.
The Trump they're getting isn't the one they voted for.

Good news? Sure? But based on these numbers, think of the sheer number of people who voted Trump after he told everyone exactly what he wanted to do. NOW they’re shocked?

Hard to take a victory lap when millions of people aren’t smart enough to vote against the things they’ll hate in 6 months.
Riding a wave of recent election victories, Democrats have another reason to hope for a repeat performance in next year’s elections. According to a new PBS News/NPR/Marist poll, a majority of voters say they would rather elect a Democratic candidate if the midterms were held today.

The pictures of the partially demolished White House are affecting me more deeply than I would have expected, probably because it’s a crossover episode between my hatred of Trump and my love for historic preservation. Remember how mad he pretended to be over damaged “historic” confederate statues?

My Soros check hasn’t shown up, which means I will be forced to completely self-fund my attendance at the Iowa City #nokings protest. I sure hope I can find another investor to bankroll the estimated… *checks notes* $1 for the parking meter.

Now that we know the limits of what behavior the GOP is cool with, I propose Pres. AOC send CA National Guard into Texas to go door-to-door checking that all guns are legal and secured. Don’t worry, If the gun owner isn’t breaking the law, he and his kids will only be briefly detained.

So… the makers of Tylenol are gonna sue the shit out of the Trump administration, right?

Just spent 2h at the gym. MSNBC was on one screen, covering a wide range of current news topics. In the other screen, Fox News ran a constant feed of the Charlie Kirk Memorial Klan Rally. No commercials. Just one old white dude after another, taking turns praising a white nationalist POS. Gross.

It hurts how accurate this feels. What would be the Dem equivalent? Justices Mamdani and Crockett agree that Pres AOC’s 90% top tax rate stands? Somehow sounds both radical and extremely mild in comparison.
Breaking News (2030) | The Supreme Court's swing vote Emil Bove broke with the court's left flank, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch, and concurred with Justices Aileen Cannon and Dana White that Mecha President Trump could reallocate all remaining Medicaid funds for more torture drones for Alligator Alcatraz.

In theory, who could argue with “Candidate A gets an interview on 60 minutes, so Candidate B also gets an invite”? But to the MAGA base, “vaccines save lives”, or “Trump lost to Biden” are leftist political statements that, presumably, would now REQUIRE the spreading of provably false information.
An FCC “ombudsman” would work directly with New Paramount’s president, Jeff Shell, to review “any complaints of bias or other concerns” regarding CBS News, a subsidiary under Paramount.
Under Trump, Paramount’s merger deal must include a “bias monitor”
The company also had to agree to ditch its DEI programs.

Here’s the thing about conspiracy theories: No amount of evidence will stop them. It makes no difference what’s in the Epstein files; almost everyone will just retreat to their corners and move the goalposts as necessary. I welcome the distraction though. It puts the admin off their game.

It’s sometimes hard belonging to the party of facts and reason. Dems say, “We need to figure out what went wrong in Texas so it doesn’t happen again.” Meanwhile, Trumpers are confidently, loudly, unapologetically shoehorning the floods into their completely unrelated pet conspiracy theories.

It’s probably too early to draw a definitive, direct line between DOGE cuts and unnecessary death and suffering in Texas, but if the Dems controlled every branch of government last week, you KNOW the GOP would be already calling them murderers.

My delivery from #raygun was well-timed, as I’m definitely wearing this one tomorrow. Fuck #SCOTUS, fuck Kim Reynolds, and fuck every politician that’s used trans people, and especially trans kids as punching bags to score political points.
