Been learning how to put together in-game trailers.

But when the game uses multiple perspectives and post processes, which do you use?

I didn't know which to use, so I'll just show you them all.

I'm designing the clues for my detective horror game. The core idea here: a dimensional leak years ago caused objects to glitch out of existence.

When you arrive, the leaked echoes are still active. You won't just find clues; you'll witness them.

An old copy of company policy was found. This was given to all HLRG staff who worked on The Promethean Project.

It was a very fun and engaging workplace! Lots of DEI and HR was very supportive.

Welcome to The Promethean Project.

Been working on making gifs for Steam. How does this feel? Trying to make it seem like you're diving into an old VHS tape.

Experimenting with a new, non-linear trailer format. This cut splices moments of subject distress with the baseline environmental state.

Initial takeaways are required for my research.

Your observations are much appreciated.

First look at my horror game's massive 5-month graphics overhaul! Hunted by a clever monster, manipulated by the narrator watching your every move.

Can you survive when the game itself is against you?

Been busy making the monsters AI for horror walking sim, but I got a lot done in the last week.

The monster has poor sight and hunts by hearing mainly.

The antagonist narrator will warm you if a monster is close.

But sometimes he does it just to keep you tense.

It will all crumble.

Humpty Dumpty up on his wall will never understand.

Working on crafting atmosphere for narrative driven #horrorgame with deep mechanics

Procedurally created fluorescent light sounds created in #unreal #metasound are fully reactive

Learned a lot to make this sound but still working on improving it

How does it sound so far?

Started work on crafting horror atmosphere.

First up is post processing and dynamic florescent lighting effects.

Next is procedural buzzing sound effects to go along with flickering and fading lights.

Had to pay homage to the Stanley Parable while working on learning blender and testing out some building layouts this weekend.

The #horrorgame walking simulator's narrative state machine is getting highly contextual in responding to the player's actions.

With everything going on with the world at large and the pumpkin in charge, it's hard to just focus on #indiegame. So I wanted to show support in the way I'm able

Hopefully reality doesn't come to anything that resembles a #horrorgame but these are strange times

Don't just live thru it. Stand up

All game dev and doors that won't play sound when moving both ways make Homer something something.

Been doing a lot of work on sound design and getting the sound right on these realistic doors is something else.

Somebody's happy I'm getting some good work done on Friday night. Just listen to that purr.

Just got the basics of my narrative state machine working so I'm happy too.

And it's still only the start of this horror game.

Working hand animations make using the camera feel real in this horror game...

Now I just need:

Buttons on the camera...

Clues that know they're captured for the narrative manager...

A narrative...

A #horrorgame is about limitations. You’re not all-powerful. Protagonists are weaker than enemies. Even everyday objects—like realistic doors—become confounding.

Easier to open, but closing them might be a nightmare if monsters are near and you feel pressured.

Working on realistic doors for my detective #horrorgame. Would be nice if something worked on the first try.

Anyone have suggestions for a camera #UI or menu design?

Finished basic functionality: take and review photos with a storage & review display, a battery bar that fades green to red as it dies.

Players can’t delete photos (that’s intentional). Open to other suggestions!

Teaching myself #Unreal by crafting a #horror experience that defies gaming conventions.

Started learning #Unity mid-2024. 2.5 months into the switch, and the game is taking shape: working flashlight, digital camera, and security cams—but who’s watching you?

Don't you love when something goes right the first time you try it?

I would love for that to be the case when trying to save photos to the player's digital camera in my #photography system.

Gotta put my head down and figure this out. #devlife #unreal #indiedev #gamedev

Welcome to the testing grounds.

I'm making a #horrorgame and the hardest part of creating a realistic flashlight was figuring out where your elbow should be.

I think it's looking pretty good.

What's next? Work on the first person camera more or create interactions?

I finally nailed the rigging for my photography #proceduralanimation.

After many failed attempts, it’s finally clicking, and I’m already onto the next part.

What’s next? A realistic flashlight and fully working camera—click, flash, capture.

My holiday break deep dive into #Unreal control rigs continues with part two of this montage.

The photographer system is ready to shine. Part two wraps up the week’s work of learning and sets the stage for the side-by-side comparison.

What do you think so far?
