Disgusting.
The vile Trump takeover of FEMA is complete- only states that voted for Trump get climate disaster relief.
Alaska, North Dakota, and Missouri approved. Vermont, Illinois and Maryland denied.
Trump explicitly cited how the states voted in announcing the approvals.
Trump issues disaster declarations for Alaska and other states but denies Illinois and Maryland
President Donald Trump has approved major disaster declarations for Alaska, Nebraska, North Dakota and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe

There ARE still heroes out there, and based on this, it looks like Genevieve McDonald is one of them. The heroes are harder to spot these days among the ever-increasing numbers of villains or those willing to betray themselves and their neighbors for money.
Maybe the campaign can make it through tomorrow without any new controversies. At least one day would be nice.

If it doesn’t directly impact him, his family, or his richest allies, he doesn’t care. Period.
WOW: The White House says the president's MAIN PRIORITY is his BALLROOM. SNAP is ending. Subsidies for health care are gong to double and in some instances quadruple plan premiums. The government is shut down. The cost of living is through the roof. And his priority is his ballroom.

Come on, journalists. I used to be one of you. Did you forget what drove you to that path? The journalists whose past bravery during hard times spurred you on to pursue your own dreams in journalism?

Ask yourself: Will future historians remember you as brave or complicit in what’s occurring now?

Sincere question: Is it now a requirement that one be a convicted criminal and/or a sexual predator/p3dophile to run for office as a Republican?

If so, maybe we could make this a formal part of the application process, just so we’re all on the same page?

ICE now has a budget bigger than most militaries around the world and has increased spending on weapons.

It's also engaging in a race to recruit 10,000 new agents who will eventually be out in American streets.

Some will be vetted, but how many unqualified recruits will fall through the cracks?

Notable aspects:

1) POTUS again teeing up strikes on land. "We're totally prepared to do that."

2) Says will probably explain to Congress about strikes on land. Not seek authorization (as required by the Constitution).

3) SecState says strikes in US would be different. "Would be law enforcement."
Trump says he'd "like to do" land strikes on drug dealers

Indeed.
POTUS likes performative, videogenic military action—especially airstrikes against supposed "terrorists."

Reality TV commander in chief.
We had a NATO coalition and tens of thousands of troops in Afghanistan for 20 years and never managed to stop the cultivation of opium.

I have no idea what sort of brain damage the Trump administration has that makes them think they’re going to drone strike their way into ending cocaine use.

On top of the murder, this comparison is just offensive to the memory of 9/11.
SecDef announcing another (9th) lethal strike, again in the Pacific against an unspecified "designated terrorist organization."

Claims these "DTOs are the 'Al Qaeda' of our hemisphere.

Nope.

No armed attack on US like 9/11.

No AUMF.

No armed conflict.

Just more lawless premeditated killing.

I’m sick of people saying they voted for him because he was a good businessman. In what way is bankrupting everything you touch being a good businessman?

We’re only 9 months in. I’m no mathematician, but it seems clear even to me that we can’t survive his expensive ego-stroking for 3+ more years.

I wish I could say this is shocking, but it’s not. What is harder to swallow, for me, at least, is seeing how few truly brave, heroic politicians we have who are calling out Trump and Co. on their BS, and who are sticking their necks out to fight for what’s right. It is deeply disappointing.

According to whitehouse.gov, “President Trump signed a presidential memorandum requiring radical transparency regarding wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars by the federal government.”

Thank goodness for that memo. Otherwise, I might have some questions about this $300m ballroom expenditure…
President Trump on Wednesday raised the estimate of his planned White House ballroom, saying that the project would cost $300 million — up from his initial claim of $200 million.

You nailed it precisely, @joyannreid.bsky.social . His role as prez, in his eyes, is bullying people to get his way. Whether it’s for revenge, extortion, to escape prosecution, to suck up to tech bros/dictators, and/or just because he’s a racist hate-filled narcissistic sociopath Is anyone’s guess.
What the hell is wrong with this man? He's so mad that he didn't get into Harvard, he wants to turn it into a trade school?
Trump on Harvard: "We reached a concept of a deal but it's pretty complicated bc under this deal it would be $500m, they're gonna open up trade schools. I love the idea of trade & trade schools by Harvard. You know, they get into like a vocational-type school... we may just charge them a $500m fine"

If Paramount Skydance buys up Warner Bros, many of the shows you watch will all be owned by the same company — and they can jack your prices up.

We can't let that happen. We have antitrust laws for a reason, and it's on Donald Trump to enforce them.
