Just finishing up another set of #108meditations These are intended to become vertically viewed public art installations. The back of each piece is drilled to accept small stainless steel rods, which allow them to appear as though they are floating above the surfaces they are installed upon.

This happens to be the World's Greatest Grilled Cheese Sammie: whole grain sour dough bread, Monterey Jack, butter & garlic sauteed mushrooms, fresh basil leafs sliced tomato, radish & red clover sprouts. Grill it slowly and flip it regularly until it's hot all the way through. You will love it!

It's been a little over a year since I quit, and this guy showed up in my feed. So I figured it was a message worth sharing.
If you hear or see something enough times, no matter how repulsive & obviously dangerous & bad for you, you can become conditioned to accept it. Even glamorize it in your mind. How I Quit campralquitsmoking.net /

I know you've probably seen this and heard about her, but as far as I'm concerned this is close to the only voice worth remembering from the inauguration.
This is the face of courage and compassion. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking truth to power on behalf of the marginalized.

Like a bridge over troubled water:
Cornelia Konrad's original intent when creating "the bridge" in 2018, was to allow for some ambiguity. " Is the bridge coming together or falling apart? " Now near inauguration day, it reminds me of a national divide.

Thankfully we have the artists, when everything changes, the Arts remain a pathway. An introduction to both truths and deceptions. Without the artists many of these issues would be left ignored or unspoken. So whether they dance, paint, or write we should allow ourselves to pay attention.

When writing becomes images:

A great interview with RaMell Ross. Unbound (and untrained) in the rules of filmmaking.
He seems driven to place both himself and the viewer "within" the narrative. Driven to bring a new take to the art of storytelling. It sounds like a powerful viewing experience!

This is a great interview, it's also the first of the Art2Life podcasts I've listened to. I'm sure I'll be back for more!
Now listening to Nicholas Wilton’s ART2LIFE podcast with artist, writer & teacher Judy Tuwaletstiwa. Judy has a fascinating story. I identify with her longing to create & admire her tenacity!

Right here, where it's read outloud.
Between the cosy charm of Brambly Hedge and the terrifying cold of a Brothers Grimm winter lies another end to the year. Yes, there is darkness – but also light. Let it guide you: into and out of the woods. It's where you'll find wave twenty of @iambapoet.com.

So many aspects of this book go beyond solid advice for writers and also apply to other artist/creatives. Whether they are choreographers, content creators, dancers, illustrators, or performance artists, knowing what creates a strong story is essential. I highly recommend this.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Clear, concise, and jam-packed with practical insight for writers. This book is one that will remain close at hand for reference. Recommended for emerging and established writers alike!

I love the premise of this one. The Mermaid sounds like the "Tank Girl" of the sea. Definitely getting it for my daughter, an artist, who loves mermaids and lives by the sea.
Book One of a series exploring environmental issues through fantasy. The Mermaid's Wrath focuses on ocean pollution. Jelly, warrior mermaid, lives beneath the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and she's furious at humans, determined to make us change. It's not the little mermaid you grew up with.

* 40 miles from the epicenter of the 7.0 earthquake that just struck the Pacific / Northern California.*

I was jostled a bit, as the trees swayed and the ground shook hard. It felt like a planet that knows it has the power to lay claim to something better.

Facing the past is both one of the challenges and rewards of writing. I really had to work for it, and see myself, to get this one.

I'm not particularly attached to cadence in poetry. It's the language of all the empty spaces between the words, that I listen to most closely.

One of the better voices, listen closely you might hear echoes of things you've thought about.
