How about some good Winnipeg and hockey-related news? Jennifer Botterill is one of the best to ever do it and is (finally) getting the recognition for it.
Here’s my story on Winnipegger Jennifer Botterill being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday:

In 2024-25, they never were worse than -5 xG at 5v5 cumulative on the season - only got as low as -4.15 in December. Jets are now at -8.32 xG.

Confirmed it was not good! Might’ve been real bad, actually!
Facing Celebrini yesterday and Carlsson tomorrow is going to be something (note: not a good thing for the Jets)
Leo Carlsson. Nasty

Great play by Terry to find the puck and get it across the slot for the goal. Schenn had a great view of it after nudging a guy in front of the crease.

Also: NHL broadcasts this year have noticeably had the video lag behind the sound by about half-a-second - and it becomes obvious when it cuts to the action shots from cameras at ice level being on time, and then cutting back to the main view often shows what just happened again

Oof, Scheifele caught drifting to the crease instead of covering his guy who eventually scored the goal

At least Schenn probably recommended a good spot for dinner in Anaheim. Real good teammate

Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

this is the play in which sheldon rankins conjured a scorigami out of absolutely nothing. 30-29 had happened plenty of times and so had 37-29. scorigami only happened because the refs didn't make them stick around for the extra point

Well, at least Winnipeggers will at minimum get their money back on their Grey Cup tickets. Will be gross seeing too much green in the stadium though (read: more than 1)

Who would've guessed?
Winnipeg might have bad players on defence, but BC definitely has the worse coordinator

lmao
Corey Mace gets his 2-and-out because he knew Buck Pierce was going to be uber-conservative and that a Benevides defence is as soft as a hot knife through butter

Well, at least I can watch the Jets game instead.

A couple of pucks the dribbled to the edge of the net in the 1st period and in the flurry of chances at the end, but Jets essentially got severely outplayed the second half of the game. Arniel’s line blender did zilch. Too many players couldn’t keep up with SJS’s young guns when they pressed.

Yeah, Fleury with Pionk was never a good idea and both of them were awful on that sequence

With the amount of dangles he's attempting, even he is hinting at his desire to be a forward
Would Stanley be a better forward than a defenceman?

Arniel putting out a 3rd period roster blender because the 2nd period was slow/ugly and thus far no one looks like they know how to play with each other

Proof (if we needed it) that algorithmic amplification is dramatically accelerating, and perhaps even driving, the unravelling of our democracies.
Fixing the problem means tackling the algorithms themselves, not just trying - and failing - to address the harms they cause.

Hi Bluesky 👋
Small life update: I’m at the centre of a multimillion dollar lawsuit in Alberta launched by a failed candidate for Jason Kenney’s UCP
It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history
I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵

Canada's flag is literally two colours and somehow they still manage to sneak in as much black as possible and now throw in a different tone of red for the hell of it
