It's a fundamental and probably purposeful misunderstanding of how Republicans, the media, and the brain operate while obscuring the role you play in effectively demonizing progressive ideas while normalizing fascism. Other than that, great takes.
"Dems should take more moderate positions" neglects that any position taken by Dems is automatically tarred as woke Marxist communism — their very adoption of the position discredits it as a basis of policy. Only 'more conservative' will ever do...which you may note is a vector, not a position.
part of my frustration is that this proscription doesn’t really take account of our fractured media environment and the inchoate nature of “moderate” as a label.
