How about a fund for MPs to invest in at the start of their tenure, where the rate of return is inversely proportional to the change in inequality over the period (or reflecting the change in median income during said term)?

I agree with this in drop dead earnest. There are plenty of people doing government work who could rake in exponentially more coin in the private sector. They're expected to live with their choices and adjust their lifestyles accordingly.

Any politician who can't, or won't, do the same? Move on.
Everyone should have to divest from everything including their peanut farms to be involved in politics.
