When your "friend" mocks you and all the sacrifices you've made for them, perhaps they were never really your friend all along.

Remember the eclipse back in April?

Since eclipses are rare I practiced camera settings and timing... then changed travel plans, watched the weather like a hawk, and ended up driving quite a bit. It all worked out. I'm proudest of this image and would love to do projects like this more often.

My kid’s baby monitor plays the saddest violin rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star ever and I caught myself thinking ‘this music would work at a child’s funeral’. Suffice to say I have been brimming with tears for the rest of the day as a result. Postpartum is wild.

Never forget this: The forces rigging our economy, undermining our democracy, polluting our planet, and stoking hatred are counting on you to give up. Cynicism is how they win. Stay clear-eyed and ready for the fight ahead.

Library stacks at the University of Michigan.

These places are enchanted spaces and I love them. It's here that you'll find the old, forbidden, forgotten, dusty books of trouble, rebellion, resistance, and knowledge. This place doesn't care about bestsellers, face-out displays, etc.
