Hockey, DnD and Podcasts - If I post it is probably about one of those. Or complaining about IT.

He/Him
@foldablehuman.bsky.social Hi Dan! I was watching yesterday's VOD and it sent me down a rabbit hole RE: the VST. After checking our schedule and doing some estimations, your number of 19 is pretty close! Except that is how many active people we average at any given time during the run of desert bus!

By far the best I've ever seen the northern lights where I live. Doesn't look quite this good just to the naked eye but it's pretty close.

All of y'all that relate to the "Sitting like an ADHD / Bi person" meme that are currently in your 20s or even early 30s, you gotta break that habit. Signed, someone who is almost 40 who has a fucked up knee because of sitting weird at an office job for 20 years.

God I love crapshots. So very much my humor.

I had a surprisingly productive 90 minute support call with Microsoft this morning that led to actionable items to make progress on an issue we have at my work.

I'm waiting for a pig to fly by my office, or maybe I'll be hit with a snowball later on when I'm walking outside in this 90° heat...

I'm sure I've said this before, but Post-Rock has the best song names.

The new No Man's Sky trailer has me listening to 65daysofstatic, current track: "Install a Beak In the Heart That Clicks Time In Arabic"

That's the good stuff.

Wow this is not something I expected from a VTT company, but is pretty awesome that they are willing to make this kind of statement. Good on you @forgevtt.bsky.social .

This is a good game.

Not sure what happened for those 7 years between 2005 and 2012...

Oh wait. WoW happened. I guess College too.

Also, definitely one of my nerd brags is that Sept 17, 2003 date for my first purchase. Like 5 days after Steam launched I think?

If you added up hours of gameplay plus time listening to the soundtrack, this would likely be #2 on my list of game hours.

It's a good thing I don't work in Higher EOh Wait....

Anyone in Canada need someone good with SCCM deployments / GPOs / other outdated Windows Client Management stuff as well as managing a helpdesk?
say it again:

4 million people work in higher ed, the largest employer in 10 states, second largest employer in 10 more, and in 60 of the 100 biggest cities

demolishing higher education is economic sabotage
It's important to note here that we're not just talking about faculty & university staff. 100s of U.S. colleges are in towns or small cities where they form the major industry & lifeblood of the community. Loss of students -> loss of rent $, restaurant $, bars, bookstores, gaming stores...

Quite possibly the best article on AI I've read, and one that I agree with pretty much 100% in my limited experience, and Marcus is a lot smarter than I am.

One of the most important things you can do for a company is to make reimaging easy.
But it will also destroy your ability to drive the attack and solve the problem. Often in which you shouldn't try to solve, you should just re-image, it's cleaner.
But still you are destroying so much of that reward

My pharmacy just texted me reminding me that I haven't picked up my adhd meds yet...

I wonder if there could be some kind of causation there?

Why don't Magic players use d10s instead of d6s for counters? You'd (almost) never need more than 2 on a card, and they'd be a heck of a lot easier to count quickly...

Hell you could even make them spindown style for ease of use, like they do with d20s already...

@dropout.tv FYI your new bumpers don't seem to play nice with at least the android TV app, looks like it starts putting subtitles of the actual video up (and running them) instead of for the bumper, and also there isn't a way to select the "skip ad" button with my remote.

A coworker has been talking a lot about Magic and Commander recently so I figured I'd take a whack at building a deck (even if I probably won't pull the trigger on buying it any time soon).

Y'all.

There are so many cards.

Even with a narrow scope and a budget, this is straight up overwhelming.

This is the #1 thing I tell people to get if they protest. People think of other things, but for some reason a lot of folks overlook the eyes. Bruses fade, cuts heal, but you've only got two eyes. Protect em.
If you go to protests, please look into ANSI Z87.1 or MIL-PRF-32432A rated ballistic eye protection.

Another thing you might see is APEL which is the Army's Authorized Protective Eyewear List which is tested and validated against the Army's requirements for ballistic fragmentation protection.
Earlier, federal agents shot a protester in the eye. Vincent is an ER nurse and said he came to the protest at the ICE facility in South Portland after a shift. Other protesters called an ambulance for him, but he had to walk several blocks to meet it, due to the munitions still flying.

Me, yesterday: Hmm I kinda want to make my own database of players to answer random questions like "what's the average 2C make and produce?" But it sure would be a lot of work to even get started on populating it...
