Me on a bike in a museum in the lovely town of Steyr, Upper Austria, just having finished pedalling enough to generate the energy needed to take this selfie. A fascinating reminder of how much power even simple digital actions require. 💦🚲⚡

Some of mine . It’s important to fit your bike to the color of the clothes you wear 🌈🚲

Everyday life is full of small choices and opportunities to move more. Whenever possible I choose the stairs. It’s the healthier option and an easy way to add mini workouts into your daily routine. #GymOfLife

Outstandingly dangerous intersection design: two right-turn lanes crossing both a zebra and a bike lane. Drivers block each other’s view and the view of cyclists and pedestrians making it a high-risk spot for everyone. That really needs to be fixed. @radlobby.at maps.app.goo.gl/qipzgYwkfVBJ...

My 3 beauties all lined up. I can’t hide that I have a passion for classic Mountainbikes 😂

Another appreciation post for the bike + train combo! Wind and rain this morning, but I still wanted my ride. Threw on my rain gear, cycled to the nearest station, and skipped the longest (and wettest) part. Still got my exercise without arriving soaked!

I love research, especially in cycling infrastructure. But if a project in 2025 still asks whether paint alone makes roads safe for cyclists, amid cars going 100 km/h and trucks or buses 80 km/h, it’s a waste of time, money.

Used a lot of multi oil and lubricant during the process to make it easier the next time.🧴

The old parts 😵 what you really need is a loooong wrench to get those old filthy and rusty parts loose.

DIY success! Swapped out the bottom bracket, crankset, cassette, and chain on my bike and it actually works! 😝

Morning magic in @wien.gv.at . On my bike commute today, the Hofburg bathed in golden sunlight the roofs glowing as if painted golden. No filter needed.

It could be a Fietsparadijs, but there is still a long way to ride

My home region, the beautiful Mühlviertel, has discovered the potential of bicycle tourism. Unfortunately, this hasn’t yet translated into better cycling infrastructure , dedicated bike lanes, proper bike parking etc, remain a rare sight.

Sometimes it just takes a small touch to transform a space.
A public piano in a busy subway station, one young man starts to play, and suddenly, strangers stop, pause, smile, connect.
Small interventions, big impact.

On October 21, Austria’s Ministry for Mobility presented a draft amendment to the Road Traffic Act (StVO). Key changes include allowing video surveillance for traffic-calming zones and new regulations for e-scooters and throttle-controlled e-bikes. A general helmet mandate is not planned.🧵

My Marida MTB is currently undergoing maintenance, so I took one of my secondary bikes for a ride: a steel-frame Nakita MTB with 26” tires. Acquired for only €25 in nearly unused condition. I really appreciate its classic look and plan to keep it completely original.

Today I tried to replace the crank of my bike. But I could not get the screw loose. I then tried to hammer on the crank to get some extra force on the screw but with little success. Any tips ?

2/2 The city’s reasoning is as weak as ever: too few cyclists use this dangerous route, so they see not enough demand to make it safer. A perfect example of circular logic that discourages cycling instead of promoting it.

Normalizing road violence in ads is dangerous. This radio station boasts their program ‘boosts you while driving’ causing more speeding tickets. Reckless driving isn’t fun. It’s endangerment.
