If you've enjoyed Cryptmaster, please consider sharing the news. Despite an IGF award, a 95% Steam rating and a free demo, the game has gone mostly unnoticed by both press and players. It's not just a typing game and there may still be people out there who would enjoy it!

Hell yeah, much better to carry the best into 2025 and do more of it than to resolve to wake up a different person. Never works IMO.
Resolutions? Fuck resolutions.

I'm happy with my results this year.

I'd like more of that please. More days with a sword in my hand, more mastery of skills. Feels like I'm coming into my own as an artist finally, and that's rad. I just want more of that.

So I think I'll go out and get it!

A good start. Currently weighted towards academia rather than investors, fund managers, or analysts. I expect that reflects activity on BlueSky.
I'm currently building a starter pack on a critical topic: the role of finance in driving climate resilience, mitigation, and a circular economy.

Investors, financial experts, development banks, researchers, innovators: who’s leading the charge in this space? Give me your top recommendations!

Just one last share since today is the last day to contribute to my fundraiser for the local shelter where I volunteer! As always we will chip in the transfer fees so the shelter will get the FULL amount donated! Thank you so much! gofund.me/a44dd513

I can't believe I'm saying this but the fundraiser for the shelter where I volunteer is almost to $12K. Can we hit that milestone for Christmas?? That amount of money is HUGE to a small shelter like this! gofund.me/a44dd513

I am incredibly grateful for people like you and @erinbiba.bsky.social pointing this stuff out because I'm very prone to doubting/blaming myself and these rancid resist people gaslight and manipulate so hard.

HOUSE OF MUIR, the sequel to my 2019 debut, VULTURES, is now available for your consumption. Consider it a lyrical love letter to Castlevania.

Let's get Shaun to those goals early, shall we? Subscribe if you can! Follow him, because he does cool goofy fun stuff! And signal-boosting always helps!
As a req for streaming again, my wife has asked me to have goals until March.

One was hitting 25 Twitch subs. Hit that Sunday thanks to one generous person.

My other goals:

--500 followers on Twitch and 200 subs on YT
--Start a follower Discord
--Double active viewers.

Best of luck to me!

My morning take: reading goals are weird and I don’t get them at all.

I also don’t have eating goals, breathing goals, or singing along in the car goals.

Inspired by trying out Fable and being asked for my 2024 reading goal as if the first and most important thing is volume.

A fellow author got told not to promote her own books on bsky. So let's go over this:
1. Don't enjoy someone's posts? Don't expect them to cater to you. Move on.
2. Fantasy/horror readers: Check out @bookspotlight.bsky.social's books Bailuchien & These Violent Nights. 2 of my fav reads this year.

Great thread full of practical kindness
All right y'all, the coming year is going to be freaky and stressful. Please consider making yourself a New Year's resolution that will encourage you to have some fun or do a little self care in the new year. Fuck diet and exercise and withdrawal. Here's a thread of ideas for you:

Try singing it. The clues are all there. If you know the song it should immediately become obvious. If you don’t, and you care enough, let me tell you about google…

To be more precise about it, there are studies examining the impact of burnout on the prefrontal cortex and amygdala. Thankfully there are also studies that suggest that recovery is possible but they still need to be replicated.

If you’re a game dev, here are some resources:
More to say on burnout and I'm probably going to boost it a few times because folks need to hear it:

Burnout is a form of brain damage. It happens when stress conditions persist until they damage our brains.

It's an injury that needs to heal, not a weakness that needs to be pushed through.
Man burnout can mess you up for a very long time.

And it can sneak up on you: things can seem stressful but mostly manageable until suddenly they're not manageable.

Self care and vacation are great, but they're guardrails: they don't help when you've already fallen in.

BlueSky is trying to monetize so let's show them some numbers:

Reskeet this if you refuse to pay for BlueSky+ until trust & safety decides to prioritize marginalized users.

That's $96 / year of lost revenue for each reskeet...

A blinged up version of objectively the best dinosaur? Yes please!
"Butterfly Effect" is by far my favorite piece I've ever drawn. I know I keep sharing it, but I just hope it brings joy when people see it.

(Plus I don't have a whole lot of new art to share.)

Outright gasped at the end of 'Money' - ep 80 of @andrewhickey.500songs.com's amazing history of rock.

"From now on, either they were on Tamla, or they were coming out on the new label ... [natural yet dramatic pause] ... Motown."
