Just got a library card from my local branch, and highly recommend you do the same if you don't have one. You can watch movies, read ebooks, do research, and use equipment that you would have to pay for anywhere else. In case you need a reminder!

The final piece of advice I would like to give to new folks tonight is that Bluesky will be what you make of it. When I came over from the former Twitter, I resolved to be more kind to others here than I was over there. That choice has made being here so much better. Keep it in mind for yourself.

Another thing I like about Bluesky is that people are using it to actually express who they are. On Twitter it was all about appeasing the algorithm so most people felt so sterile. Here, I'm actually seeing parts of who people are and it's warm. Please keep expressing yourselves
