The irony of Nick Ferrari bemoaning the state of maternity services published in Baroness Amos’ report! I wonder if he’ll concede that Tory austerity was, and continues to be, the principal cause. Unlikely I expect.

Reform UK lecturing the country about immigration while secretly running a Far-Right version of an illegal workhouse?
Peak Reform.

What a relief! @zackpolanski.bsky.social smashed it on BBC QT last night (I was nervous). Couldn’t get a cig paper between Reform/Tory/Lab. Thought it was telling that only pro-immigration points received applause. Tumbleweed whenever right-wingers spoke. There is hope! #hopeishere

It’s a ‘safe’ budget in that they tested it against opinion polls, didn’t really tackle wealth inequality, but did enough to appease disenfranchised Labour voters.

Britain’s students aren’t buying Farage’s fairy tales about Russia. They’re shredding Reform’s spin live on camera. Britain’s future isn’t having it. 🔥🇬🇧 #ukpolitics

It’s quite striking that he can’t bring himself admit that he said those things and apologise. The defence of being a ‘child’ might have been more palatable than ‘I didn’t say those things in a hurtful way’. Racist Scumbag.

It's more subtle but the way the press and TV indulge and excuse Boris Johnson's conduct is very similar to what happens to Donald Trump in the US.
Johnson was directly responsible for the needless deaths of 23000 people. He's not a loveable tousle haired scamp.

As soon as a UK government of any party appoints a brown female politician as a Home Secretary my heart sinks because I know the only way she has reached that position is a willingness to cheerlead the most racist , cruel inhumane policies that no senior white male MP would dare to announce.

As Labour proposes limiting the protection of the ECHR, we must remember what it was set up to do; protect us all from abuses of power by our govts.
Be v wary then of anyone calling to do that. You may not be the target now. But why shouldn’t you be next?

Why we - and the Home Secretary - disapply the ECHR at our peril

This feels like a more realistic assessment of the Govts proposed changes to asylum mechanisms rather than the apologist read outs by blinkered Labour supporters. Absolutely disgraceful and dehumanising.

Going to leave you with a Home Office chart from their most recent asylum stats so you can decide whether the UK is a magnet for asylum seekers with a uniquely generous asylum system www.gov.uk/government/s...

So counter-productive. Use dishonesty to aggravate feelings of grievance over asylum, and respond to the problem you create with performative cruelty.
The Home Secretary says "we have become the destination of choice in Europe, clearly visible to every people smuggler and would-be illegal migrant across the world"

That is a factually untrue claim: the Home Office shows that the UK is fifth, getting 1/10 claims, while Germany gets 1/5 claims

Labour concocts more ugly measures to punish asylum seekers and the right immediately demands worse… howling to leave the ECHR.
This scapegoating of migrants must stop. It is failure - morally and practically.

Watching Alex Norris on BBC this morning and so thoroughly disappointed in the language being used about refugees and asylum seekers. Clearly chasing Reform voters. This is not the Labour Party I voted for. 1 of the many reasons I’ve joined the @greenparty.org.uk

Not the first to make this point. But there is a tyrant in charge of another country who is accused of being heavily linked to a paedophile sex ring - and supposed ‘patriots’ in this country are passionately willing him to take down our national broadcaster. Madness.

Isn’t it interesting when some posts a negative comment on Zack Polanski (exposing their failure to appreciate that he is vocalising long-standing green policies) and then pauses responses because ‘they’re too distracting’?
October 20, 2025 at 9:41 AM
I disagree with Zack Polanski on NATO — membership is key to UK security, but not the only issue that matters. If you agree with the Greens on 90%, why compromise on that for Labour, Reform or the Tories over the 10%? I would still trust the Greens to do the right thing on security when in power.

It’s great to wake up to see so many images and videos of the No Kings protests. And with what has been happening with the Green Party in the UK, I’m starting to feel a little more hopeful for the future.

I’d just like to see the Labour Govt give up chasing Reform votes and I’ll be happy…
