Fighting for Safe Streets in the Western Suburbs: https://streets.mn/2025/05/30/fighting-for-safe-streets-in-the-western-suburbs/

Cedar Lake Road puts students, workers and residents at risk every day, with deadly design choices embedded just outside three public schools.

If bikes are causing all the congestion, how come cars are causing all the congestion?

The Richfield bike network plugs very well into Minneapolis's extensive system! Not necessarily with "flashy"/the best infrastructure, but seamless connections nevertheless...

Jaywalking update:

Our bill legalizing walking across the street when it is safe to do so survived a misguided challenge in the Senate Transportation Omnibus Bill today with strong bipartisan support - 38 to 27!

Note: This would not make it legal to create dangerous situations.

Interesting development concept I stumbled upon from 2020 on Lyndale. Wish it came to fruition, but it was canceled due to not reaching an agreement for property acquisition with the city.

Woah - a Bloomington bike lane wide enough for the bike lane symbol?

The buffered part is decently wide and it's a significant improvement over what was previously there, even if it unfortunately narrows toward the intersection..

St. Paul’s New Bikeways for 2024: https://streets.mn/2025/04/15/st-pauls-new-bikeways-for-2024/

Though St. Paul has added several new bikeways recently, many fall short of not only high hopes, but even the city's own design guidelines.

Does anybody know if/which @metrotransitmn.bsky.social buses announce the next stop? From the couple of trips I've been on it seems fairly inconsistent, wondering if there is any methedology to it.

Anybody else think this The Boulevard thing looks reminiscent of Centennial Lakes with even more parking?

Would we really rather route a regional trail onto an airport access road instead of narrow American Boulevard?

How come we're getting a cycletrack on Nicollet in Richfield and most likely in Bloomington as well, but all @mndot.bsky.social has to offer is a painted line over the freeway they're spending $377 million to widen?
