an important aspect of this to remember is that the misinformation isn’t an accident, they know they’re lying. that’s the intention. if they can anger and rile up their base with claims that are exaggerated they’ll continue to fuel them to gain power. they want us to live in a post-truth world

There's also seemingly no acknowledgement of a massive right-wing propaganda machine stirring this sentiment up. Where it does exist it's largely a manufactured, tribal outrage, it's not actually regular people getting so offended they go fash over this stuff. That's important.

It still blows my mind to this day that Britain could be so unfathomably stupid, the brain drain this has had on Britain due to visa issues is seismic too. A genuine embarrassment & believe me, As a regular traveler to Spain Britain is nothing short of a laughing stock the world over because of it.

can't wait to play civ 7 like i play all the other civ games: exclusively play vanilla because expansion packs seem weird, play exactly the same style with the same civ for 1000 hours over the next decade, mostly ignore entire key game mechanics, and consequently never actually get very good at it

my kid turned 18 weeks old today. if you’re a parent, you know that’s flying week. so tonight instead of putting him to bed i took him outside and sure enough, off he went. won’t be back for hours. it’s gonna mess with his sleep cycle so bad. thank god we all forget how to fly at 19 weeks

Using generative AI at the best of times kills all credibility I have for a person in whatever pursuit they're using it for. Using it to conjure up a list of depts. & orgs. & presenting it as fact that their funding is being frozen at the federal level however steps into journalistic malpractice.
