"Fascinating."

Gene Roddenberry must have watched this movie.

Huh. The cinematographer of Creation of the Humanoids, Hal Mohr, also did The Jazz Singer (1927) - the first part-talkie.

(Just started watching. Sorry if someone else said it first.)

Watching Creation of the Humanoids on #Svengoolie. Did the aesthetic of this movie influence #StarTrek? The color palette, costumes, and matte paintings remind me of TOS.

Currently watching S2E2 of #Fallout while enjoying a cup of coffee from the pour-over maker I received for Christmas.

Damn, Hank is evil. Rest in peace, Shady Sands.

Dear God, I just saw my grandmother's YouTube feed. It's 100% AI history documentaries. She has no idea that every second of what she watches on YT is fake.

I was smiling from ear to ear during this scene. The "Would you kindly?" vibes were off the chart. I paused the ep after this scene to explain Mr. House/Fallout/Odo vs. Andrew Ryan/Bioshock/Quark to the person I was watching with (who is decidedly not into games).

Impersonal bureaucratic systems are liberation from the tyranny of the village and the tribe. Long live modernity
"village" mentality is what sustains conservatism. not being able to do anything without the Grandma Gestapo reporting your every move. depending on the easily withdrawn kindness of others instead of impersonal but reliable services. and of course obeying aristocratic landowners
Its gonna be hard to have a family in a single family house when you have to bring your prospective girlfriends to your parents' house instead of your own place.

Omg. They actually put Mr. House on the Vegas Sphere.

Also, episode 1 of season 2 of Fallout was amazing.

Houston really is a perfect example of where decades of strictly car-centric policy will get you, and surprise, it's not only bad for everyone else but it makes drivers even more angry and stressed
Spotted in Houston: two hacked variable message signs. That the signs were placed on the sidewalk, blocking pedestrian access, makes the messages all the more urgent.

Put out to pasture to mill about and admire the railway line? Yes, please.

It's wild that a handful of draft horses were still employed on railways in Britain just two years before the first Shinkansen debuted in Japan.

I made pasta yesterday. And a couple of days before that, too. I am capable of preparing a basic pasta dish. No, I don't need your help, obtrusive LLM sycophant.

Can you tell that I despise that one commercial?
This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

We're just over a week away from the release of season 2 of Fallout. And the dreary winter weather keeps reminding me of the Capital Wasteland. I'd say it's time to begin another playthrough of my favorite Fallout game, Fallout 3.

My lifelong (literally since the age of six) desire to own and wear an 18th century suit has been reignited. When I was in the 2nd grade, I wore an unbuttoned "girls" cardigan basically every day because it reminded me of a 1700s coat. I need to get sewing.
