One of my only pet peeves with the new Labour governments, the total denial of re-entering the EU. I understand that they do not want to spook the markets or people with sudden changes, but come on.

But, you can't have everything.... even when you are the PM.
“Obviously there will be no return to freedom of movement, the customs union or the single market” says Prime Minister Keir Starmer at #PMQs

In other news the OBR report the Gov’t keeps quoting from says Brexit is on course to cut UK trade by a staggering 15%. Hiding from it won’t make it go away

The Metro creating a creative graphic for a story.... using the only intercity operator in England that doesn't go to London in a story about London.

Couldn't make it up.

Jeremy Clarkson just explained that he didn't buy his farm just to avoid tax, he also bought it for shooting. Not sure "I would also be killing birds for fun" is quite the argument winner he thinks it is.

In 2018, the IPCC told us "Realising 1.5°C-consistent pathways would require rapid & systemic changes on unprecedented scales."

So, larger scale than the preparations for WW2.

Look around where you live: there should be evidence of a major transition everywhere.

Our politicians are failing badly.

One Q over #Trumps tariffs' effect on the #UK.

Most of our #trade with the #US #service/financial based rather than physical products, which means that these #tariffs won't affect that portion of our trade?

Trump wants to build up his #manufacturing sector.
Smaller economies will be hit harder by a Trump trade war.

Trade accounts for 65% of UK GDP.

Compared to only 15% of US GDP.

If Trump goes ahead with his plan on tariffs, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research estimates it could halve the UK's projected GDP growth.
