I have started a pack for neuro and stroke OT/PT/SLT, to make it easy for people landing. There are some other great more general neuro/neurorehab packs, but this is just to help people landing. Using "neuro" in it's broadest sense and have included some "honorary" AHPs

Well that @humanists.uk event at The British Library was immensely enjoyable. The new book’s contributor list looks like a dream dinner party list…Tim Minchin, Sandi Toksvig, Paul Sinha, Stephen Fry, Dan Snow, Helen Czerski, Alice Roberts and slightly less expectedly, Frank Turner and Janet Ellis

Hearing lived experience - “good psychological support lifts me up a bit, helps me to thrive. Bad psychological support can knock me down miles.”

#OT #occupationaltherapy #Oats I love that I have only just noticed that autocorrect changed OTs to Oats in this post. I think that’s what I’m going to call us going forward. #RCoats

As people are arriving on a daily basis, I’m reposting some of the content I put up when I first joined. Here is a thread on neglect / hemispatial inattention
In an attempt to generate some content on here, I'm going to share some of my favourite neurorehabilitation and neuroscience resources, articles and courses from the past few years.

Dr Vancleef doing some lovely short infographics on common visual perceptual and visual cognitive topics. Agnosias: often overlooked. know your aperceptive versus your associative agnosias :-)
Difficulties with recognising objects is not unusual after a stroke. It can help to think of the visual system as an hierarchical process to understand what exactly is challenging for a patient, but the debate is ongoing.

I’ve put a couple of threads up about useful things from career - articles, websites, courses, people to follow. As people keep joining will periodically repost them. This one was on ADULT ACQUIRED LIMB APRAXIA.
For a long time there has been a move away from describing #apraxia in terms of ideomotor/ideational and instead looking at more useful clinical terms. If you are going to read one article on apraxia, make it this one by Dr Elisabeth Rounis www.ahajournals.org/doi/pdf/10.1...

Today one of London’s Overground lines officially becomes the Mildmay Line.
In the 1980s, before effective treatment, the Mildmay Hospital pioneered AIDS care.
In 1987 Princess Diana famously shook hands with a patient there, a small gesture of solidarity which made front pages across the world.
