One Month Milestone for the MCS-Stroke Project

It’s been just one month since we opened recruitment for the MCS-Stroke project across two NHS hospitals — and I'm thrilled to share that we’ve already recruited and assessed 24 stroke survivors using the new tool.

Ok #FESN2025 is over! As always, my favourite mainland European conference. My main goal is to make new connections, meet up with existing connections, and get my work out there. This year I presented the Mini-OCS, which is now fully out there for use with chronic stroke survivors in English..

Today, September 1st 2025 marks the first day for data collection for the Multistage Cognitive Screen - Stroke (MCS-Stroke) project funded by the Stroke Association (see lnkd.in/eiKHWE4p). This is a huge step for my project which will validate the MCS-Stroke. Find out more on my LinkedIn post.

Ahead of next weeks Federation of the European Societies of Neuropsychology (FESN) conference in Leipzig, Germany, see our poster showcasing the Mini-Oxford Cognitive Screen. The screening tool is now available for licensing and use. We think it best suits primary care settins with chronic stroke.

Last push for this, as we approach the end of Jan and these workshops are taking place in Feb :)
Are you a neuropsychologist or clinical psychologist involved in stroke care (rare, I know!)? We could really use your help developing a new cognitive assessment platform on an app - please get in touch if interested :) @donbps.bsky.social

Really quite exciting planning the next few months co-production workshops and how we will get my new cognitive screening app platform off the ground running in next few years. More to come!
