The only thing that makes sense today is that Putin is pulling all of Trump's strings.

It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

When did Republican leaders begin to believe in Putin? What triggered it? What was exchanged? Which Republican leaders stand firm against Putin and Russian appeasement?

Because Putin is both a tyrant and a criminal, I take this most recent placation as proof that #GOPCriminals own the party.
She doesn’t even try to hide that she’s a spokesperson for Putin serving in the US Congress. Post after post, day after day, echoing Russian propaganda. Truly sad that people in Pinellas County have chosen this as their representation.

It makes me very sad that Tatiana Schlossberg has to spend any energy whatsoever on RFK, Jr.

A true indication of how awful he is that his dying cousin is spending what little remains of her time on earth denouncing him.

The Trump regime's undermining of Ukraine should push the Europeans to cut ties with the U.S. and try to make it on their own. It will be hard, but it's the only way. The U.S. government has embraced autocracy. Europe must acted now to avoid falling into a Putin-Trump sinkhole.

Great piece on Trump's 'Quiet, piggy' moment. This phrase could be the new shorthand way to explain how abusers silence their victims. Keep quiet or be punished cruelly.

Heidi Stevens: After Trump’s ‘Quiet, piggy’ moment, we’re done asking why survivors don’t come forward, right?
If we’re going to become a nation that truly protects children and women, we have to stop giving a pass to sexual abusers, writes Heidi Stevens.

The GOP's "healthcare plan" was repealing the ACA. Now they're mad about subsidies they enabled while blocking public options and boosting junk plans?

If they truly want to take on insurers, next stop: universal healthcare.

Current events will make a lot more sense if you zoom out and look at the foreign influence over MAGA.

MAGA is a Trump creation of Pro-Russia (from his past) and Pro-Isreal (created through marrying off his daughter)

This coalition ended when Trump lost his mind and influence over the base.

I.e.: To what extent is crypto effectively a transfer to these countries, which all have extremely low, subsidized electricity prices? 🔌💡 🗺️

I am so confused why some can’t understand that Ukraine will not surrender and will never accept Russia’s 28 point plan
