Don’t be RUSHing to any conclusions to quickly, this ain’t no Restionaceae but instead #Jacksonia restioides! A common leafless species that forms a tangled mass of stems that do at first glance look kinda like a rush, and what is even better is those large show flowers!

@phylojennatics.bsky.social research focuses on macro and micro forces that can influence species abundance in Silene. She is using herbarium specimen data to build a genus phylogeny. Jenna successfully extracted DNA from a specimen from 1892!
