AI is dying. Repost to make it die faster.
👀 | OpenAI is reportedly burning cash fast, with losses projected to reach $14B in 2026 and a possible cash shortfall by 2027.

Analysts say AI profitability was overestimated, as rising data center and inference costs could lead to a $207 BILLION industry shortfall by 2030.

Sure. AI companies have ALWAYS been training their models on Wikipedia content, which under the free and open access model is available to anyone — including AI companies. Agreements like these require AI companies to limit and offset the strain they place on Wikimedia infrastructure.
Hoping that @molly.wiki can help explain.

if you tie a baby elephant to a post with just a small rope, it can hold them

keep using that same small rope, and the elephant grows up and says

"oh shit, this rope is too small and weak to hold me now that i'm big"

what is the lesson?

you need a bigger rope, because the elephant is bigger

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.
