Yesterday, the LA City Council voted on consent to move the motion forward for a Residential Construction Minimum Wage study. Thank you to the speakers and supporters who came to the council.

A sincere appreciation to the individuals who came to the committee yesterday to bravely share their stories! Putting a face to the L.A. Residential Construction Worker Minimum Wage issue is vital in understanding why so many unions and nonprofits are coming together to demand this study.

It is Anti-Poverty Week - did you know 1 out of 5 residential construction workers surveyed has been evicted? Or that 1 out of 10 residential construction workers surveyed has been homeless while working in the construction industry?!

Last week, we got one step closer to a minimum wage for Residential Construction Workers. We look forward to the next steps - a committee meeting, where we hope to see continued progress on this very important initiative.

Pablo is one of many individuals currently experiencing homelessness while working in the construction of residential homes for others. The challenges faced by these hardworking individuals deserve our attention.
