Approving a City of Los Angeles study was the first of many essential steps in having the city stand up for Residential Construction workers. Upon implementation, accountability will end one of the many pathways from poverty wages to homelessness.

To care about a minimum construction worker wage is also to care for veterans.

Did you know many veterans step into the construction world after service? According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in 2022, this sector was a strong source of employment, with 12.8 percent of veterans working in “natural resources, construction, and maintenance.”

We appreciate the LA City Council for hearing our concerns and taking one step closer to a Residential Construction Minimum Wage, with a study on the matter. Far too many people in our communities are impacted. This is a step in the right direction.
