Well, Dram London was a lovely place to start.

Hepburn know their bottles well. But that bottling from #WireWorks takes it.

Alex had the chance to chat with Wire Works founder Max on his tour of the distillery and hear all about their pursuit of unique flavour and authenticity.

Nothing like whisky wisdom straight from the source!

Huge thanks @thewhiskywire.bsky.social @whitepeak.bsky.social for a great tasting, 4 fantastic drams and a fab #whisky glass, thanks. I love #WireWorksWhisky and the highlight tonight was hard to choose but it was between the Caduro Cask Strength and Special Waters
Tonight, we've shared, sipped and savoured a quality, quaffable quad of sensory stories from White Peak Distillery, who without doubt are the real deal when it comes to craft. What are your overall thoughts and highlights? #WireWorksWhisky

Special Waters - Palate : Juicy and fruity but it has an immediately noticable earthy element. The fruits are blackcurrant and apple again with charred oak, chili chocolate and slightly tongue numbing menthol and aniseed that turns to cooling mint imperials as it finishes. (1/2) #WireWorksWhisky

With water, there's a creamy mouthfeel with tulips, furniture polish, Calvados, Lyle's golden syrup over creamy porridge, hot buttered brioche, spiced toasted teacakes slathered with butter and honey, and a ginger snaps with creamy vanilla custard finish. Fabulous! #WireWorksWhisky

Adding some water and some overripe notes pull through, black pepper, but still that mouth feel is present, offering rich sweetness over biscuity notes. #WireWorksWhisky

For me, D1, Bourbon Barrel is an absolute blinder for a core range type whisky.

Then the Caduro and the LBV are both stunning. I can't choose!

You can identify distillery character & that's shown by the amount of people getting similar notes throughout the drams.

Great stuff.

Dram 4. Special Waters. On the palate, it's just as sticky and complex as I'd hoped. Definitely some smoke coming through, and there's a lovely background sweetness to the flavour. #wireworkswhisky

The process involves ageing low strength spirit, for subsequent use as ‘proofing water’ on the higher strength equivalent, to dilute to final bottling strength... #WireWorksWhisky

The low alcohol waters extract flavours from the cask that aren’t accessible at higher ABVs. For this release, the special water was matured in a refill American oak STR cask, enhancing the finished bottling with a luxurious velvety texture, and rich indulgent notes. #WireWorksWhisky
