So, when a U.S. Senator goes to a press conference to stand up for his constituents, he ends up forcibly removed, tackled, and handcuffed? Trump's corrupt administration has no regard for our constitutional rights.

None of this is normal. We can't let this slide.
California Sen. Alex Padilla was just forcibly removed from a DHS press conference and handcuffed.

"I am Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary."

This is extremely disturbing.

@padilla.senate.gov was violently removed from a public briefing for asking questions on behalf of the people he represents.

Every day that goes by, Donald Trump is making our nation look more and more like a fascist state.

This is outrageous, and we need answers.

If this is how the Trump administration treated a United States senator while the cameras are on, ask yourself: what will they do to ordinary people?

Senator Alex Padilla was fulfilling his Congressional oversight duties when he was thrown to the ground and handcuffed.

This is no isolated instance; this is a pattern of behavior by the Trump administration.

There is simply no justification for this abuse of authority.

When a cabinet member announces "We are using the military to liberate an American city from its elected leaders," where do you go from there. What is left to say. The idea of that being anything short of a near-universal "Wait, what the fuck is going on" moment proves how far we've backslid.

What's the cherry on top to these brazenly corrupt self-enrichment schemes? The GOP remains complicit.

The American people can only rely on Democrats to call out this corruption and hold Trump accountable for profiting off the presidency.

Turns out that when you base essentially your entire case for becoming president on the idea that there's an ongoing invasion by murderous criminals and only mass deportations can solve the problem, your voters expect you to produce said criminals. Now they're just going after anyone they can.
They’re lashing out against Habeas and arresting Mayors because they know their position is weak and getting weaker, and they’re panicking. It’s scary to live through, but it’s less scary when you remember this isn’t coming from a position of strength, it’s sweaty desperation.
