Here's my shot of the tornado that developed to the south of Grinnell, KS yesterday! This is my first tornado! We got hit by the outer circulation and saw the ghost train ram into us with 50-60mph winds. You can see the left edge of the tornado on the left-center of the image, barely.

Midnight Update: Our storm is weakening and moving inland. Winds have gusted 50-70 mph along the coast, with gusts of 40-55 mph possible for the lowlands through 8-10 AM. Additionally, large waves of 25-30 feet will bring dangerous conditions to the coast. #wawx

Confidence is increasing in an offshore wind event across California next week as a inside slider low-pressure system digs across NV and tries to cut off over SoCal. Cold air advection and coupled N-NE winds all the way up to 30,000+ feet will likely support strong Santa Ana winds. #CAwx

Long-range models continue to stay locked into the idea of a significant pattern change later this month and likely lasting into February. We won't have any idea how cold we may get or what precipitation we will get until about 1-2 weeks from now... 1/2

Last night's long-range GFS was one of the most beautiful model runs that I have ever seen. No point in going into detail about the specifics of the model run other than the potential for colder air at the end of the month is remaining and increasing still. This deserved to be put in the Louvre!
