A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.

When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.

This is outrageous.

In America, where irony is dead, a hotel chain uses a policy denying shelter to local people, for fear of accidentally housing homeless persons…

To deny a reservation to the author of a much-lauded book on how American economic unfairness forces working people into homelessness.

It's just so fucking embarrassing to be an American right now. Like we are just a nation ruled by liars & grifters & masked thugs kidnapping Americans off the street. And the sycophantic silent complicity is just 🤮

This is an important moment, and we need to explain to the public why it's important.

An agency with the power to decide who gets to broadcast is supposed to be independent from the president so it won't abuse that power. If it's not, then we are letting the president seize the power to censor.

CARR: I think th---

L: Yes or no

C: There's a test for this in the la---

L: It's yes or no, Brendan! On your website, it simply says, man, 'the FCC is independent.' This isn't a trick question

C: The FCC is not

L: So is your website lying?

If so, good luck, MAGA. Good luck.

One other thing about this Disney/OpenAI deal: they've very specifically said they don't have any talent or likeness deals, or voices; but the deal does include 200 characters. And people created those characters? is Disney they paying them anything for unlimited usage? Probably not, right?

Amazingly, instead of getting paid a billion for the license to their characters, Disney is instead *investing* a billion. Thus inflating the AI bubble to Epcot-sized proportions — and further shackling our economy to this stupid boat anchor most people hate.

My bipartisan IRS MATH Act with Senator Bill Cassidy is now law.

Now, if you mess up your taxes, the IRS has to tell you where you made a mistake and how to fix it.

No more spending a fortune on lawyers or hours to find errors.

That means fewer headaches and more money in your pocket.
