That's exactly why she shouldn't have done this. She is a black woman prosecuting a conservative white man. Everything she did was going to be scrutinized and she engaged in naked corruption. Her actions weren't just stupid, they could have world historic ramifications.

It's still bad! We should expect everyone regardless of identity to serve the communities that elected them with integrity!

Anyway. We are paying like hell for our car culture. Insurance, cars, car maintenance, road upkeep, the incessant road widening which SHOULD NEVER EVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
I do not want it. I want trains and public transit. I would GLADLY get rid of cars.

what the formulation "israel has a right to exist" is meant to stand for is "the nation of israel has a right to define its electorate such that particular people are represented and others are not," which is something so plainly ridiculous that it cannot be stated outright.

Not to be a bummer but NYC DSA kind of just played a big role in the mayorship and lots of DSA members take these "journalists" seriously

Sorry to belabor this but then is Matt Yglesias not considered an institutional voice? I was thinking about Jacobin and the Intercept when responding to emissary but I'm fine accepting I'm wrong about this lol

Jacobin and the Intercept definitely do this. The Nation I can't say off the top of my head. My takeaway is that nobody here thinks the Left has any institutions besides electeds which ok sure I guess 🤷🏼♂️

Yeah lol I think a bunch of people responding haven't been around a lot of socialist organizations. I guess this is also a question of if institutional left means all the institutions of the left of center to the left or just institutions that see their role as antagonistic to the center left.
