The White House asserted today that it would control who gets to cover the president in the White House and via the White House pool for the first time in our history - providing an authoritarian-style mechanism to shape coverage and retaliate against disfavored outlets. Right out of the textbooks.

Remember: Wealth can’t be separated from power. Power begets wealth and wealth begets power. We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of billionaires.

This is insane. If you wonder why some of us think the rule of law is about to fall, it's this.

The U.S. Attorney for DC is not "President Trump's lawyer" and its job is not to "protect his leadership" nor prosecute people who "refuse to put America first".

Crockett: "Down in Alabama, who's broke. Down in Louisiana, who's broke. I can go through pretty much the entire south and tell you that they're broke and rely on a lot of welfare from the government. To be perfectly honest, it is tax dollars from these big blue states...we're in the find out phase"

Game on. Democrats, pay attention to how to play. 👏👏👏
Brianna Keilar: Do you think that calling Elon Musk a dick is effective messaging?

Congressman Robert Garcia: Well, he is a dick.

These two are absolute wackos. Prove me wrong.
This press conference was insane. All of it. And every sane person knows it. And sane people who say otherwise are lying.
Elon Musk on spreading misinformation about condoms for Hamas: "Some of the things that I say will be incorrect."

❗ICYMI❗'DOGE' agents—handpicked Trump loyalists—are snooping through sensitive government records with no safeguards. The Privacy Act of 1974 was designed to prevent exactly this kind of abuse.

We’re taking them to court. Read more 🔗 https://protdem.org/4aYTWRp

Executive wants to frame the NIH indirects cut as $4B in savings.

But given that NIH returns $2.5 on every $1 investment, this would actually cost US economy a net $6 BILLION (per year!). Not to mention the human costs of wrecking education and research sectors and the communities they serve.
Direct Economic Contributions
NIH directly supports the economy through investments in research institutions and job formation.

The way I see it, the media now has a job to do. Follow Time’s lead & make the president feel as small & unimportant as possible. Fill him with rage & jealousy so he’ll eventually turn against his own people. Because we all know he’s on the verge of a giant temper tantrum…
I wonder how much Trump will like the new cover of Time.

So painful.
Judge Amy Berman Jackson has formally dismissed the case of Jan. 6 defendant DJ Rodriguez, who drove a taser into the neck of MPD officer Michael Fanone and had been sentenced to 12 years in prison

"Michael Fanone's heroism will never be moot," she says.

Another of the despicable orders from the new administration.
The USAF removed Tuskegee Airmen & Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII from basic training curriculum. For 30 years I promised these women I would not let them ever be forgotten again. We worked for decades to have them remembered. The Airmen too. Knowledge is power. 🗃️ www.msn.com/en-us/societ...

This is funny to me because it’s actually one of my favorite Christmas songs. 😆
on “Wonderful Christmastime,” Sir Paul McCartney set out to make a timeless christmas classic and also to figure out what every button on his synthesizer did, and he absolutely succeeded at one of those things
