There was one other album released in October that I left off my list because I have an interest in it. Still MASSIVELY PROUD of my kid and you should check this out if you haven’t yet!
To celebrate their birthday, The Kid RELEASED AN ALBUM! Recorded under the alias Jaila Couteau, and made with no real prior musical or technical experience, it’s a hell of a thing. It’s on Spotify - open.spotify.com/album/1ELyC7... - and YouTube -
www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OkX... - and I love it!
adieu to a lost cause

I picked this up from Brenda's shop but YOU can buy one from the brilliant @monorailmusic.bsky.social & read a personal, passionate account of one woman's love for The Pastels (and more). My favourite Pastels song is "Speedway Star," by the way.

The major plus, of course, is the biggest turnout since 1969. The next General Election in the UK risks being the first since universal suffrage to dip below 50% of eligible voters because half the country have NOTHING to vote for.
What's that? NOT tacking so far to the right that you are indistinguishable from your opposition results in a massive turnout and a big win for the Left? Wow. Who knew?

I’ll be posting the 1987 John Peel’s Festive 50 tracks in proper chart order, 1 each day, starting today and (hopefully!) concluding on Christmas Eve.

Give these tracks a listen, you might like some of them. Enjoy 😎
