NBC News latest promos: "Meet at the facts. Proceed from there."

Fox News ancient promos: "We report. You decide."

(smh)

Do they really not see it?

Next year, I'm going back to a flip phone and doing my personal computing on a Raspberry Pi. Maybe two.

Whew! Finally finished the code for my little workout helper. Just a webpage that prompts me through the parts at the right times. I still have to give it a little CSS TLC so I can read it from across the room.

Overheard (in my imagination...):

"But why _three_ hearts? Most life forms get along fine with one."

"And Time Lords?"

"Oh, well, we're always overcompensating, aren't we?"

Having retired (my game hobby) to a life of solo RPGing, I can also retire the vast majority of my game dice. Here are the eighteen that are staying in my bag, sufficient for any of the games I'm playing.

Shipyard Report: I am daftly entertaining the idea of a 1:350 Enterprise, on the grounds that the model is so much larger than any mistake I could make.

I would love to do without a "smart" phone. But most US carriers don't abide "dumb" phones with slightly smart features like Wi-Fi Calling. And since I live in a carrier dead spot...

My only alternative, then, is to keep my "smart" phone as dumb as I possibly can. Fewest, simplest apps.

An encyclopedia set I was given when I was 7 years old. Or maybe the unabridged dictionary I was given when I was 6.
Martin Amis' 'Money' when I was 11
Quote this with a book you read way too young that explains why you are the way you are.

I'll start: John Gardner's Grendel.

Shipyard Report: Romulan assembled. Needs a couple touches of paint. No new assemblies until I get these two into their decals.

After that, K-series space station. Pretty clear parts getting mostly painted over. Window decals sourced from the rejected 1701-A kit. Love a common scale!

Shipyard Report: DISCO S2 Enterprise now in proper sub-assemblies. I have maybe 12 decals to put on.

Next up: Back to my book stack analogy. This book sounded cool, but right now as I look at it, no. I'm not reading that. So I need to find this NCC-1701-A kit a new home.

Actual next? TOS Romulan.

Other people have stacks of books to read. I've given myself a stack of plastic model kits to assemble. I've always wanted a collection of Star Trek models in the same scale, so here I am, with these 1:1000 models that don't take up a lot of room but are still big enough to show nice detail.

I was today years old when I realized the hook line on the new Superman movie poster is ... really, really old! Very cool.

I broke my vow to avoid (a certain site) to learn the identity of a character who is Illustrated on a playing card in a specialty deck I just acquired.

With that, I was able to confirm the accuracy of the identification elsewhere.

Yay for social media literacy, but golly it took a half hour.
