Are sliding panels any help? Like the hangar bag doors but flat. Pattern for the 45° position and then top of bottom squish or stretch the same ways.

Okay it seems you are just thinking of frame in the staging sense. I was wondering if there wasn't something of frame in the construction sense, like the building was supported by oak beams but you could do it with palm.
