I play tabletop games, stream on Twitch, and sometimes talk about important issues.

I am WaywornWyrm. I am a Michiganian living in Oregon. I am an autistic giant fucking nerd. On here I talk about tabletop games of all kinds, my twitch streams, politics, and dabble in disability advocacy.

I would love to see you over on Twitch. www.twitch.tv/waywornwyrm
Well I’ve told basically everyone else, so I’ll announce it here. On Wednesday I was laid off from my job running a Business Development Center. I don’t know how this is going to affect my posting on here or my return to streaming.

I just spent over half an hour writing a thread about my thoughts on Link from Legend of Zelda, and honestly, at the end of it I just feel tired and spent. Link is now nothing but a deep well of sadness for me, sometimes its bitter sweet, most times its just sad.

The Legend of Zelda is back in the news again due to the upcoming movie. So let me take a few posts to talk about my very complicated feelings about that franchise and why this movie will likely not cause my to break my personal boycott.

Here are my picks for the three best opening lines of any book.

1. In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit.

2. The sky over the port was the color of a TV tuned to a dead channel.

3. I did two things on my 75th birthday, I visited my dead wife and I joined the army.

I have been taking the last few days to think about what the Democrats in the Senate have done, and I think I am finally ready to put my thoughts into words. First I want to talk about the different ways to look at this and then what it means for 2026. Buckle up this is a long thread.

I kind of feel like a reverse vampire with my job. Instead of needing an invitation to come in, if you want me to no longer attempt to communicate with you, you need to verbalize it. I’ve done this long enough to know when we both want me to stop, but you have to tell me. Thems the rules.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought recently about if my autism is a disability inherently or if it’s only a disability because of the social make up of the world we live in. Ultimately I come down on even if society was arranged in a way better fitting of me, it would still be a disability. 1/2

If JD Vance is a cunning politician, and then jury is still out on that one, he will wait until January 21st 2027 and then act to remove Trump from office. That way Vance can be president for just under 2 years and still be eligible for two terms as president.

Once again I am looking for something really niche and am turning to the crowd. Does anyone know of a good place/way to make a map in the style of a battle map circa first half of the 19th Century of a fictional place? Here is a rough example of what I mean.

As the results have shown, even if Curtis Sliwa had dropped out and everyone who voted for him voted for Cuomo instead, Zohran Mamdani still would have won. And not everyone who voted for Sliwa would have voted for Cuomo.
Curtis Sliwa claims to have been offered $10 million, across seven bribes, to drop out of the mayoral race. Last month, he said he’d leave the ballot if “a Mack truck hits me, and I get turned into a speed bump, and they can’t recover me in the I.C.U.”
Inside Curtis Sliwa’s Never-Ending Campaign
The Republican candidate for New York City mayor has been aggressively ramping up his campaign, even if it’s to the benefit of Zohran Mamdani.

I am in a bit of a pickle. I am not super happy with my current TTRPG feed here because it catches too many things that aren’t TTRPG related. But when I have asked for recommendations I’ve only gotten replies for TTRPG feeds that don’t include D&D, which is not what I’m looking for.

Lately a new “automated assistant” has been becoming popular to screen calls. Every single person who has given me their phone number because they are interested in one of our vehicles that has that “assistant” has always rejected my calls. If you don’t want me to call, tell me, and I won’t. 1/2

Throughout my teen years my aunt lived in Maine and getting to visit her was amazing. I’ve never minded the idea of living there. Right now I am glad I don’t. The upcoming Senate election is a decision I’m glad I don’t have to make. 1/2

Thinking about it, when I was about 18 months old, likely shortly before my autism “showed up”, I fell head first off a chair and into a toy. Luckily no one has ever blamed head trauma for my autism.

I’ve known a lot of Catholics who say the same as this “Buckley’s Chance” person, hell I’m related to some. According to the Catholic religion, they are indeed not Catholic anymore, they are heretics for disagreeing with the Pope, who is the Voice of God.
heartbroken to learn the pope sympathizes with the poor. how can i continue to believe in god

So everybody knows the if one person has dinner with ten Nazis, there are eleven Nazis at the table parable, but a lesser known axiom:

If you buy a car from a Nazi, you’re a fucking Nazi collaborator.

You literally just gave that Nazi hundreds of thousands of dollars. That’s not neutral.

It always blows my mind when I see someone older than 25 or so who seems to not realize the movie Idiocracy is just straight up about eugenics. That is the main message of the film. It’s a cautionary warning of what will happen if the “wrong” people keep having more kids than the “right” people.

This is my periodic reminder that if you don’t want someone from a car dealership calling you, when you are looking at their vehicles online don’t submit an inquiry. Don’t give them your information.

Almost exactly 11 months ago my entire department got laid off. Since then its been a struggle making about 25% of what I have been. Yesterday I ended a month long negotiation of my pay at my current place and starting Monday I will be in a much better spot at 50% of what I used to make.

I’ve got this idea for a big TTRPG event where over the course of like 2 days we go through this campaign of Colonial Gothic we eat and drink Revolution Era food, daylight and candles are the only light sources. With a roaring fire in a fire place quite a ways from the players.

when the AI bubble finally collapses and everyone who spent a year smugly hyping it suddenly has to come crawling back with their tail between their legs, i just want to say i am not going to be the bigger person about it. i am going to be meaner than you can even believe

I would guess it’s mostly for TTRPG reasons. That said, I’d love to have people who do follow me share if they feel comfortable.
