Would you really like to live in a society where you have no responsibility and no freedom, no choice, only the false option of obedience to the law, or disobedience followed by punishment? Would you really want to go live in a prison?

Do nothing because it is righteous or praiseworthy or noble to do so; do nothing because it seems good to do so; do only that which you must do and which you cannot do in any other way.

Every Southern Resident killer whale calf is a gift, but due to the pod's small size and low reproductive rate, K-Pod calves hit differently.

We were honored to have the chance to glimpse this newest little one in person today as the orcas were leaving Puget Sound.

November sightings map is here! Last month, we predicted that November would be the highest month of the year for Southern Resident sightings in the Salish Sea and that Bigg’s killer whale sightings would drop off considerably.

Thought about this book series a couple days back — read it 25 or so years ago and loved it.

Something made me think about it recently. Took a couple books to a Little Free Library tonight and there it was.

Looks like my magic is working again.

YA author Natasha Bowen shares that she never saw herself in any books until she was 19yrs old! Representation matters, especially when it's authentically part of storytelling and not crammed into an otherwise white/eurocentric story.

One way to save $ on breakfasts if you like hashbrowns is to make em from potatoes.

If you can get a 10lb bag of spuds for $5, often doable this time of year, you can turn half into hashbrowns to freeze—

Peel. Cube them. Parboil in boiling water maybe 3-4 minutes. Strain. Cool. 🍜🍽️

Spent yesterday afternoon using a headlight restoration kit on my 15 year old Honda Fit. Not because of aesthetics, the car's paint job is pretty bad. Instead I wanted to improve the road visibility in the dark and a lot was compromised by cloudy headlight.
We'll see how long it lasts!
